In addition to its unique name, Nacogdoches, in East Texas, is the oldest town in the state. There’s evidence of settlement dating back 10,000 years and it stands on the site of Nevantin, the main village of the Nacogdoche tribe of the Caddo Indians. It has been under more flags than the state of Texas and was the home of Sam Houston and his law office for four years before the Texas Revolution in 1836. Though the city is around 33,000 residents today, it is the seat of Nacogdoches County and is the home of Stephen F. Austin State University and Texas’ largest Azalea garden.
Nacogdoches is also the site of the latest county-wide adoption of aiSMARTBENCH, by Mentis Technology. In a county this small, going paperless was a large undertaking and so trust was placed in aiSMARTBENCH, which has a proven track record of success in adoption rates in counties both large and small with its ease of use and faster-than-paper access.
aiSMARTBENCH provides the first step toward a paperless court environment for us, offering quick and easy access to cases from the courtroom. –Loretta Cammack, District Clerk in Nacogdoches County
