Yolo Superior Court is situated in the Sacramento Valley in Northern California. Yolo County, whose county seat is in Woodland, has a population of just over 200,000. Yolo boasts a strong agriculture industry (it is an impressive contributor to the state’s tomato industry) and is home to the prestigious University of California, Davis as well as the West Sacramento River Cats baseball team.
Yolo Superior Court is moving and shaking, having recently moved to a new 163,066 sf courthouse completed in 2015. The court has taken the lead in the state on several innovative projects that have been adopted by other California courts. Its newest project is the adaptation of aiSMARTBENCH, by Mentis Technology Solutions. aiSMARTBENCH provides a fast, reliable path to paperless systems in the courtroom, and has been used by courts nationwide. Yolo Superior Court selected aiSMARTBENCH as part of the courts’ goal to streamline and improve access to justice for the public.
As counties and states across the U.S. transition to paperless courtrooms, jurisdictions need to provide their judges with a tool that can handle the high volume and high-speed demands of a court docket.
aiSMARTBENCH by Mentia Technology is the first eBench designed for judges, that
connects to any case or document management system. It delivers:
- Flexibility: Configurable by judge, by case type
- Speed: Full text searching of all documents in a case, eFiled or scanned
- Mobility: Touch-enabled for tablets or on a computer with mouse/keyboard
- Anywhere Access: Web-enabled for secure access to calendar and cases 24 x 7
aiSMARTBENCH: easy to use, easy to learn and faster than paper.
